hi, I'm Amanda
An old soul driven by curiosity and a
desire to learn
Amanda Herndon is passionate about supporting people living with dementia and the care partners who walk alongside them.

Amanda has been called an "old soul" for as long as she can remember. As an only child, she spent much of her childhood in the company of grandparents and older adults, listening to stories, asking questions, and soaking up wisdom beyond her years. Looking back, it's no surprise that her path eventually led her to dementia care and helping others navigate the changes that come with aging.
Her approach is rooted in the teachings of Positive Approach to Care® (PAC™) founder Teepa Snow, blended with plenty of real-world experience from working in dementia care communities, skilled nursing, and in-home care settings. While some people find dementia intimidating, Amanda is energized by the challenge of connecting with people whose way of communicating and experiencing the world has changed. For her, it's the moments of joy that make all the hard work worthwhile.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Hospitality Services from Central Michigan University and never really stopped being a student. She holds four PAC™ certifications, is a trained yoga instructor, a Certified Activity Director (NCCAP), and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (NCCDP).

Ranch life in Texas
Originally from Michigan, Amanda now enjoys the quieter pace of ranch life in Texas with her husband and a lively crew of furry and feathered "babies." When she's not working, you'll likely find her doing yard work, fixing something around the house, listening to 60's & 70's music, exercising, or grabbing takeout from a favorite local spot. Every summer, she happily heads back north for her annual bass fishing trip with her dad, family time, and a healthy dose of Michigan nostalgia.
Amanda won't pretend to have all the answers. She simply hopes to be someone who can help make a difficult journey feel a little less overwhelming and a little less lonely.
Amanda is Within Reach.
